  IAEG Core Logging Course

  17th October 2026

  The IAEG Core Logging Course will be hosted by IAEG council members, with presentations from Miller O'Prey and John Colthurst. This course is suited to Earth Science students and early-career geologists looking for an introduction to the process of core logging. Course contents includes best practices for gathering lithological, structural and alteration information from core, mineral estimation,  logistics of core handling and QAQC.

  Core logging is an invaluable and essential skill for any geologist and not something commonly taught during university courses, this is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience.
